This important meta-analysis of 46 case-control studies, involving more than 80,000 subjects, demonstrates that polymorphisms of CETP associated with lower activity and higher HDL-C concentration are also associated with lower coronary risk. The results lend support to the hypothesis that pharmacologic CETP inhibition may be therapeutically useful.
