5. This contribution (from ?-exchange in the middle of a multiperipheral chain), although small, can have physically noticeable consequences. It has been suggested that it could be connected to the small |t| break seen in elastic scattering at ISR energies. However, at this energy range, the flavoring of the Pomeron due toN $$\bar N$$ production is important. Therefore, in this article, we mainly concentrate on the lower energy regions?400 GeV2, where bothpp and ?p elastic scattering data are available
