Abstract
AbstractIntestinal barrier studies often employ cell lines having limited cell type representation compared to native tissue. Organoids comprising most intestinal cell types better mimic in vivo conditions. However, 3D organoids pose challenges for barrier analysis. Thus, organoid-derived monolayers were generated that closely resemble donor tissue under optimized conditions, making them suitable for tissue-specific investigation. Further developments will incorporate additional intestinal compartments.
