Abstract

AbstractIn many biotechnical and medical processes, cell pellets are created by centrifugation or sedimentation. The precise determination of their size is necessary for the subsequent processing. A suitable detection unit has been developed for use in automated processes that uses computer vision methods for the determination of the cell pellet height. The determined parameters are returned to the automated process to enable safe aspiration and dispensing processes avoiding the loss of cell material.
