Am J Sports Med. 2011;39(4):764–73. Epub 2011/01/05. This 2011 study reported 2- to 5-year results of ACI plus bone grafting for treatment of knee OCD and demonstrated a 73 % excellent/good Lysholm score.

This study examined various bioabsorable fixation devices for adult knee OCD and found a 33 % nonunion rate, almost all of which occurred in patients who did not undergo microfracture or drilling at the time of their fixation. This illustrates the benefit the pluripotent stem cells can have on treating OCD.
