Report on an extremely well-done prospective study of the effect of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) on gastrointestinal (GI) disease in HIV. The authors document the amazing decline in GI opportunistic processes after HAART, even in patients whose CD4 count did not appreciably increase.
