This meta-analysis demonstrated that the association of FTO gene risk allele with obesity was attenuated by 27 % in physically active adults, highlighting the importance of PA in prevention obesity from analysis of 45 studies.

Int J Behav Nutr Phys Act. 2011;8:98. This paper is an excellent meta-analysis that measured the dose response of sedentary behavior on health indicators, with emphasis in watching TV and spent screen-time, in children and youth aged 5–17 years. Interestingly, TV-watching >2 h/ day was associated with increased risk for obesity, decreased fitness, lowered scores for self-esteem and pro-social behavior, and decreased academic achievement.
