1. J. Jagger, Introduction to Research in Ultraviolet Photobiology, Prentice-Hall, Englewood Cliffs, N.J. (1967). [This is the primary reference for the present chapter, which is drawn largely from Chapter 2. The Appendixes contain useful material.]
2. L. R. Koller, Ultraviolet Radiation, Wiley, New York (1965). [An excellent, elementary, highly readable book on techniques. The tabular and graphical data are most useful.]
3. H. H. Seliger and W. D. McElroy, Light: Physical and Biological Action, Academic Press, New York (1965). [This was the first textbook on photobiology. The discussion of equipment and physical techniques (seven appendixes) are rather advanced.]
4. J. G. Calvert and J. N. Pitts, Photochemistry, Wiley, New York (1966). [Chapter 7 is an extensive discussion of sources, filters, monochromators, measurement techniques, and experimental setups. Highly recommended.]
