1. Bellman, R.: 1960 (1st edn.), 1970 (2nd edn.), Introduction to Matrix Analysis, McGraw- Hill, New York. This excellent book contains much important information on linear algebra and its application.
2. Dunford, N., and J. Schwartz: 1958–1971, Linear operators, Parts 1–3, Interscience, New York. This book is a monumental handbook which will give more information on various specific problems concerning linear algebra.
3. Gantmacher, F.: 1959, Theory of Matrices, tr. from Russian by K. A. Hirsh, Vols. 1 and 2, Chelsea, New York; reprinted in 1960 and 1977. This perfect book contains a lot of necessary material for studying linear algebra.
4. Mayants, L. S.: 1973, Found. Phys. 3, 413. This paper introduces for the first time the two specific modes of describing states.
5. Mayants, L. S.: 1974, Found. Phys. 4, 335. This paper contains a discussion of the meaning of functions describing states and of operators corresponding to random variables. The necessity of carefully using the properties of Hermitian operators is also discussed here.
