Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this chapter is to provide practical guidelines for implementing various logistic-oriented applications. In particular, this part starts with a crucial point pertaining to access control using KIS.Devices and external RFID readers. Subsequently, an application concerning monitoring product levels in a small warehouse is proposed. The remaining three sections deal with transportation systems. The first one starts with the simplest one, pertaining to two points and the associated single transporter order. The other two sections extend this essential case to multiple points and multiple transporters. Subsequently, it is shown how to visualize the performance of such systems using floorplans and Datapoint charts. Finally, a set of training exercises is provided, which summarize the knowledge covered by this chapter.
