1. S. L. Glashow andJ. J. Sakurai:Nuovo Cimento,25, 337 (1962). See especially the Appendix. In this reference, we stressed the representation 27 rather than the 10 partly because we wished to include both the Y 1 * (1385 MeV) and the Y 0 * (1405 MeV) in the sameJ = 3/2 + unitary supermultiplet. Now that the Y 0 * seems to be an s-wave KN bound state of the Dalitz-Tuan type [seee.g.,T. Akiba andR. H. Capps:Phys. Rev. Lett.,8, 457 (1962)], the representation 27 is no longer so appealing.
2. S. Okubo:Prog. Theor. Phys.,27, 949 (1962). This formula is a generalization of the mass formula for the octet first derived byM. Gbll-Manx:Phis. Rev.,125, 1067 (1962).

This « equal-spacing rule» applies to all multiplets of SU(3) belonging to representations with only upper (or lower) indices, like the 10. SeeS. L. Glashow:International Summer School on Group Theoretic Methods in Elementary Particle Physics at Istanbul 1962 (to be published).
