Abstract
A multidisciplinary care team is required to meet the various challenges faced to treat complex medical
conditions like people facing chronic diseases. A tool that can function across professional boundaries
and that can handle differences in perspective for various medical professionals is much needed. The International
Classication of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF),is used as common language to dene medical conditions.This paper
discusses the ICF model, and tries to understand the classication and few of its applications in medical, social and educational
sector.
