AN INTERESTING CASE OF PUJ OBSTRUCTION DUE TO A VASCULAR BAR

Abstract

Pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction is a common urological entity presenting with hydronephrosis and pain. Most commonly the causative factor being a calculus in the upper ureter or at PUJ. Other causes being strictures, idiopathic brosis and less commonly aberrant renal vessel. Vascular bar is the new terminology coined for this vascular entity. Here we present a case of 36 year old woman who presented with left PUJ obstruction, which was found to be due to a vascular bar crossing at the pelvi ureteric junction.
