Abstract
Colorectal cancer is one of the dreadful diseases of the present century. For detail investigation and exploration of its pathogenesis usage of animal
model was essential. Here we demonstrated induction of colorectal cancer in balb/c mice using by azoxymethane and dextran sodium sulfate
combination. Mice were randomised into different treatment groups. Mice of group III and Group IV were given extract of Cynodon dactylon and
Aloe barbadensis respectively. Screening parameters were chosen as occult blood test, Faecal smear and impression cytology of colonic mucosa.
Results revealed anti cancer activity in both the phytomolecules used in this study.
