Abstract

Eccrine spiradenoma is a very rare benign dermal tumor. It most commonly presents as a small greyish to pink nodule on upper ventral aspect of the body, mostly solitary. Multiple lesions are rare. This is a case report of a 53 year old female patient who presented with multiple swellings over the posterior aspect of left thigh for the past 5 years, which gradually increased in size and were extending towards calf muscle. On examination multiple soft and tender nodules, largest measuring up-to 2x2 cm surrounded by few satellite lesions were present. Ultrasound was suggestive of enhancing exophytic soft tissue mass with absence of extension into subcutaneous fat. Microscopic appearance on biopsy showed several round well circumscribed nodules of benign spiradenoma in the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue with malignant neoplasm arising from spiradenoma. As surgical excision was the treatment of choice, the lesions were excised and hitopathological examination was done which conrmed the diagnosis. Considering the rarity of this tumour this case was reported, so as to add on to existing literature as it is needed for better understanding and setting up standard therapeutic protocols for this kind of tumour.
