Abstract
This paper presents Reverse Engineering based methods for the adaptive manufacturing and repair of blades and blisks. This technology compensates for part-to-part variation as well as inaccurate clamping position and maintains manufacturing tolerances for the actual parts within a minimal value. The systems are integrated in standard machine tools as well as in the existing CMM, CAD, CAM and CAQ environment. All solutions utilize robust and precise 3D scanning systems and application specific data processing software. The presented solutions fit into the sphere of workshop. The main premises are the quality of the machining results and the simplicity of operation. The flexibility of the adaptive approach is demonstrated by different existing and future applications: reprofiling of straight blade tips, reprofiling of blades with specially shaped final domains, automatic blisk repair and adaptive belt grinding.
