Abstract
The second part of this two part paper presents the results of the parametric numerical experiment performed with the compliant bearing model presented in Part 1. The parameters are angular velocity, eccentricity, shaft axial misalignment, linear material and the working fluid. It was found that wall compliance greatly influences the shape and size of the clearance between the rotating shaft and the stationary housing and provides a strong feedback for the changes in the pressure distribution map, the magnitude of the maximum pressure, and the inception of the cavitation point. The effects of misalignment are major with respect of both the axial location of the plane containing the maximum pressure and the resulting skewed pressure map.
