The discussion of a previous paper on the hydraulic jump in sloped channels (1) made it evident that the existing literature carried no clear exposition of the subject, and moreover that no systematic experimental evidence was available which would permit an engineer to draw practical conclusions regarding the matter. The research described in this paper is an attempt to clarify this situation.
