Abstract
Thirty-seven years after the first collection in Cuba, Mycelephas robustus has been found in the Brazilian Amazon. The rediscovery of this species is also the first record of M. robustus in South America and the second in the world. A detailed morphological description is provided along with a comparative taxonomic discussion with the type specimen and with the only other known species, M. levisporus.
