Abstract

A modem control strategy including controller design and system output modifica tion is illuminated by application to feedback control of a carded web control system. Since the carded web system is a type-zero plant, an integrator in the feedforward path between the error comparator and the plant is inserted to improve the system type. A new controllability property is the key in the application of this kind of control system design technique. At the same time, the computer simulation result is proved by theo retical analysis. A performance comparison is made of the conventional controllers versus this modem control scheme, and the performance of the new control strategy is effectively demonstrated by computer simulations.
