Abstract
The current status of state provisions for home instruction was studied. Data from 47 states were tabulated in categories representative of areas of importance and concern: (a) state aid formulas; (b) types of exceptionality served; (c) criteria for eligibility; (d) limits on instructional time; (e) certification requirements; (f) telephone teaching provisions; and (g) supplementary services. Trends suggested by the data are also discussed.
