Abstract
Cyclosporine has an important place in the treatment of plaque psoriasis. Similar to other systemically administered anti-psoriatic agents, several common adverse effects have been noted with its use. We present an overview of the most frequent and clinically relevant side effects of cyclosporine therapy, and, to refresh dermatologists' knowledge, we discuss various aspects of structural and functional nephrotoxicity; hypertension; and the occurrence squamous cell carcinoma, lymphoma, and gingival hyperplasia.
