Abstract

The most promising method for generating high-density neutron fluxes for BNCT and nuclear medicine using delayed fission neutrons has been proposed. Estimated fluxes densities of therapeutic neutrons of the order of 4.41013 n/(cm2∙s) for radiosurgery and 1.441011 n/(cm2∙s) for BNCT are presented, which significantly exceeds existing world analogues. Proposals for a design solution for a clinical-based neutron source device are presented. A study was conducted of the capabilities of NSC KIPT as a potential participant in the international center of nuclear medicine.
