Abstract

Let [Formula: see text] be a semigroup of all transformations on a set [Formula: see text] Let [Formula: see text] be a fixed nonempty subset of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] Then [Formula: see text] is a subsemigroup of [Formula: see text] which leaves a subset [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text] invariant. If [Formula: see text] then [Formula: see text] In this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for elements in [Formula: see text] to be left or right magnifying.
