Abstract
AbstractThe aim of the present study is to investigate the in vitro Antibacterial activity ofAntigonon leptopusandEcbolium viridaemethanol, ethanol, acetone leaf extracts for against selected bacterial strains respectively. Preliminary phytochemical screening of the leaf crude extract revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, taninns, carbohydrates, saponins. The evaluation of leaf powder was supported by physico-chemical analysis. The antibacterial activities of leaf ofE.virideandAntigonon leptopusin successive different solvent were tested against gram +ve (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes) and gram −ve (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) Antibacterial activity of those crude extracts are determined by using agar well diffusion method and the zone of inhibition of microorganisms was measured in mm. Amphicillin is used as a positive control respectively.
