Abstract
The paper provides a short state of art in the field of diffusion processes at moving grain boundaries (reaction front) at the example of discontinuous solid state reactions. Main emphasis is put on the stop- and go behaviour and its consequences, the role of local characterisation of the discontinuous reactions and the concept of dynamic segregation in the explanation of existing divergences concerning the rate of diffusion at the stationary and moving boundary. Finally, some unsolved problems and perspective for the future research are presented.
