Abstract

The article presents a model for assessing wet deposition of aerosol substances by a dropping liquid and the results of simulation for aerosol particle plume dispersion on the territory of nuclear power plant industrial site, taking into account wet deposition. As sources of droplet liquid, atmospheric condensation in the form of rain and vapor-drop emissions from cooling towers are considered. The principal mechanisms of aerosol interaction with the liquid drops in the surface layer of the atmosphere are analyzed. The aerosol transfer equation has been corrected taking into account analytical and experimental data on the interaction of a liquid drops with aerosol suspensions. The numerical solution for a complete system of conservation equations with the corresponding closing relations is performed by developed computer code. Resulting, the evaluation of radioactive substances wet deposition on the characteristic surfaces of the NPP site in emergency situations was obtained.
