Abstract
We have developed a 2.5-kW-class SOFC stack. By designing the height of the power generation unit to be two-thirds of a conventional 1.5-kW stack, the power density of the stack becomes 1.5 times that of our conventional 1.5-kW-class stack with few problems. Specifically, a power density per volume of 0.34 Wcm-3 is obtained when hydrogen is used as a fuel, the fuel utilization is 60%, and the number of stacked cells is 70.
