Abstract
We study the fluorescence of silicon-nanocrystal coated optical bottle resonators. The photoluminescence spectrum shows whispering gallery mode peaks with Q-factors close to 2,500, which evanescent coupling transmission measurements resolve into many modes with Q-factors up to 106. The mode structure is sensitive to both the position and polarization of the collected light. Time resolved photoluminescence measurements indicate the resonator is influencing the nanocrystal emission dynamics.
