Abstract
Nb-doped SrTiO3 anodes, infiltrated with CGO/Ni, were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and high resolution microscopy techniques, upon varying production and testing parameters. The electrochemical analysis involved a combination of distribution of relaxation times (DRT) and complex non-linear least squares (CNLS) fitting routine. These electrodes were studied as single-phase or as composites with 8YSZ. Sr0.94Ti0.9Nb0.1O3-δ/ 10 vol.% 8YSZ composite infiltrated electrodes were the best overall performers, with enhanced performance stability under higher steam contents. Combined DRT/CNLS showed the existence of at least three contributing processes to the total polarisation resistance (Rp) of these electrodes. Microstructural changes involving infiltrate growth and redistribution were also confirmed.
