The place of health interventions in educational psychology

Abstract

Health and educational psychology, and the application of psychology in general to the promotion of health in education settings, is a greenfield site. This paper argues that the promotion of health in children and young people is not only central to the agenda of almost all governments but that it should also be central to the interests and practice of educational psychologists. The relationship between educational psychology and health psychology is explored, and an agenda for promoting health initiatives in educational psychology services is proposed.
