Insights into the lived experience of people with dementia: An observation exercise on in-patient dementia wards

Abstract

This article presents two psychodynamic observations undertaken in in-patient settings for people with dementia as part of clinical psychology training. It highlights the relevance of this method in gaining insight into lived experiences of people with dementia in institutional settings.
