Abstract

Embryonic morphogenesis is powered by dramatic changes in cell shape and arrangement, driven by the cytoskeleton connected to adherens junctions. The role of the small GTPase Rap1 and its GEF Dizzy is explored, using Drosophila as a model. Rap1 regulates apical contractility and epithelial integrity, using Canoe and additional effectors.
