Abstract

The article presents the results of researching the personality traits of perpetrators who committed thefts with the use of distance technologies. The authors use the doctrinal clauses of the forensic theory of studying persons who committed crimes, the theory of the forensic description of crimes and the empirical basis to design a forensic portrait comprising typical features of persons prosecuted for such thefts, which could be useful for optimizing the organization and the process of investigating similar infringements. It is concluded that the organized and serial forms of committing distance thefts of monetary funds of citizens still often remain outside the scope of law enforcement, and the recommendations for overcoming this negative phenomenon are presented.
