Abstract
At present, all spheres of the economy have been covered by digitalization. These processes are of great importance when conducting foreign economic activity and international trade, which are impossible without customs authorities of different countries. Customs control and all customs operations are currently accompanied by the active use of digital customs technologies and software products. At the same time, these customs technologies provide not only workflow automation between the participants of foreign economic activity and customs authorities, but also the use of digital control units when tracking the movement of goods across the customs border. The current system of customs administration and customs control plays an important role in ensuring the economic security of the Russian Federation, especially in the context of tightening economic sanctions by Western governments and the United States. The purpose of the study is to identify the areas for improving the activities of the Russian Federation customs authorities in the context of digital transformation of the economy. In this regard, the article considers the essence of the concepts of "digital customs", "electronic customs", and "intelligent customs". The authors formulated the main problems of digital customs development that can reduce the level of economic security of Russia, and also presented proposals to prevent threats to the economic security of the country in the process of digitalization of customs administration and customs control.
