Abstract

Bloodstream infections (BSIs) caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa are associated with a high mortality rate in the clinic. However, the fitness mechanisms responsible for the evolution of virulence factors that facilitate the dissemination of P. aeruginosa to the bloodstream are poorly understood.
