Abstract

Accurate and early susceptibility results could reduce overuse of broad-spectrum antibiotics for empirical treatment of bacteremia. Direct disk diffusion testing (dDD) using nonstandardized inocula directly from blood cultures could facilitate earlier narrowing of antibiotics.
