Abstract

We generated highly chloroquine (CQ)-resistant (ResCQ) Plasmodium yoelii parasites by stepwise exposure to increasing concentrations of CQ and CQ-sensitive parasites (SenCQ) by parallel mock treatments. No mutations in genes that are associated with drug resistance were detected in ResCQ clones.
