Abstract
Phytotherapy is the ancient practice of treating diseases with plant products. Herbal products were used in traditional medicine in both eastern and western medical ayurvedic traditions since ancient times. Periodontal diseases have been a major oral problem affecting humans for ages. The application of phytotherapy in treating periodontal diseases can help in solving many issues and answering many unanswered questions.
This review on phytotherapy for periodontal diseases explains in detail about different plants and their products, which are used in various forms for treating bacterial, fungal, and viral infections causing periodontal diseases.
