Abstract
Language is the basis of a nation's cultural identity. The language is formed over the years, absorbing traditions, national identity, reflecting the peculiarities of everyday life, culture, crafts, traditions, and religion. The history of the people is clearly reflected in linguistic features. As a result of geopolitical processes, some languages of the world become more widespread or are considered languages of international communication, such as English, while other languages die out, turning into languages that are almost not used, and their use among peoples is artificially supported thanks to special cultural programs. The article analyzes the real causes of conflicts based on the use of language and analyzes the current geopolitical situation. To confirm the hypotheses put forward in the article, the results of the conducted sociological survey and its interpretation with the projection of the results for the formation of geopolitical development trends based on the use of language issues in geopolitical positioning are given.
