Abstract

This book provides a background to the ideologies and practices underpinning the content and form of transfrontier conservation areas (TFCAs) in Africa. The roles of the state and local populations in the emergence of transfrontier conservation are analysed, as well as the ecological, socioeconomic and political implications.
