Abstract
The nutritional effects and environmental impact of phytate; degradation of phytate using non-starch polysaccharide degrading enzymes; sources of phytase; effects of phytase inclusion on growth performance, nutrient utilization, feed efficiency, feed formulation and phosphorus bioavailability in chickens and pigs are discussed in the chapter.
