Abstract
Rubus hispidus L., trailing blackberry (Rosaceae), occurs as a weed in cultivated bush and tree fruits, lowbush blueberries, cranberries, Christmas tree plantings and waste places on a wide range of soil types in Eastern Canada. Its ability to regenerate from the crown or rhizomes following mowing, burning or herbicide treatments makes it difficult to control.
