The crystal structure of Sr3(VO4)2 has been refined using X-ray single-crystal diffractometry. Sr3(VO4)2 crystallizes in the space group R[unk]m (No. 166) with cell dimensions (hexagonal system): a = 5.619(1) Å, c = 20.100(4) Å, Z = 3. The crystal structure consists of a three-dimensional arrangement of VO4 tetrahedra, SrO12 icosahedra and SrO10 {1,6,3} polyhedra. The compound Sr3(VO4)2 is isostructural with Sr3(PO4)2 and palmierite PbK2(SO4)2.
