Abstract Hamilton taking time and velocity as co-ordinates of optics induced Jacobi to take these as co-ordinates of dynamics too. Considering Hilbert’s paper „Transition of the Method of the independent integral to double Integrals“ the force dxdt double integral can be presented by an action integral thus avoiding the splitting of classic and action integrals.
