Abstract
AbstractThe Patterson synthesis of small molecular structures is separated into finite regions which comprise one or more convolution molecules. For each region the corresponding convolution integral is solved through the calculation of the moments. It is shown that without consideration of special conditions a complete and apart of the sign, a unique solution is possible for the 22 non-polar crystal classes. For point atoms a unique solution can be proved, if the characteristic vector set can be separated from the Patterson syntheses in a single non-equivalent way.
