Abstract

The novel BF3-promoted hydroboration of epoxides has been demonstrated; both homogeneous catalyst BF3·Et2O and heterogeneous catalyst BF3/HY exhibited remarkable catalytic activities for the synthesis of alkyl- and aryl-primary alcohols.
