Abstract

Phosphino-phosphenium cations react as frustrated Lewis pairs adding across the NN bond of (tBuO2CN)2 and effect the cleavage of the NN bond of (RN)2 affording [Ph2P(μ-NR)2PPh2Cl][GaCl4] (R = Ph, C6H4Cl).
