Abstract

An ashless and non-corrosive bis-2,5-benzylsulfanyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazole shows excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear performance. This is due to the formation of FeS, Fe2O3, and Fe⋯N coordinate bonds, which contribute to the creation of an excellent tribofilm.
