Abstract

That ZnBeB11(CN)12 and ZnBeB23(CN)22 clusters have unconventional zinc(iii) atoms is not supported by further studies. Moreover, new insights into the sp2-hybridization of zinc(ii) atoms and the bonding structures of the clusters are presented.
